Juan Herrera Appointed Head of Diversity & Inclusion for Munich Re US Operations

Munich Reinsurance America, Inc. (“Munich Re”) has appointed Juan Herrera as its first full-time Head of Diversity & Inclusion. Herrera reports to Brian Viscusi, U.S. Regional Head of Human Resources, and is based in Princeton, New Jersey. Herrera will oversee all diversity and inclusion efforts spanning across the North American region including Munich Reinsurance America, Munich Re Specialty Insurance, American Modern Insurance Group, and Hartford Steam Boiler.

Previously, Herrera spent two years at a global property and casualty re/insurance company where he helped lead global inclusion efforts and was instrumental in managing, advising, and executing on the company’s gender balance and other diversity and inclusion initiatives. From 2008 to 2015, Herrera served in several roles at a multinational mass media company, where he launched their Office of Global Inclusion in 2008 as the Vice President, Office of Inclusion, and helped the organization establish a program that was recognized as best-in-class for diversity and inclusion by external companies.
