    Lauren Tredinnick began her career with Munich Re Specialty – North America as a risk analyst as part of the Graduate Trainee Program in 2008 before joining the Public Entity Risk Solutions (PERS) underwriting team. With a BBA from the Wisconsin School of Business in actuarial science and risk management and insurance, she went on to obtain her MBA at DePaul University and CPCU designation. In her free time, Lauren is a Sergeant First Class and Platoon Leader for the 132D Army Band of the WI National Guard. As a member of several ensembles, Lauren plays the saxophone and is the emcee for performances.

    Casualty Loss Control Expert
    Munich Re Specialty – North America
    Dan Foster is responsible for overseeing casualty loss control services for all Munich Re Specialty NA programs and insurable interests. He has over 23 years of experience in public sector insurance and pooling for entities such as cities, counties, schools, utilities, and more. In addition to loss control, Dan also has experience in program administration, workers’ compensation self-insured fund management, and claims administration. Dan has a Bachelor of Science in business from the University of Southern Indiana. In addition to the CSP, ARM, and RMPE, he recently obtained the CPCU designation. He enjoys travel, outdoor recreation, sports, and being a foodie.

    Senior Vice President and Public Entity Risk Solutions Underwriter
    Munich Re Specialty – North America
    Thanh Hoang is the municipality subject matter expert and underwriter for Public Entity Risk Solutions within Munich Re Specialty – North America and is based in San Francisco, California. Prior to joining Munich Re in 2016, Thanh held multiple positions in claims and underwriting at Liberty Mutual, where he started his insurance career in 2002. Thanh received the CPCU designation in 2005 and earned a Bachelor of Arts in economics from Pitzer College and a Master of Business Administration from UC Berkeley. He enjoys musicals, international music and films, and a variety of dessert drinks.

    Hannah Hays is a senior underwriter focusing on cyber for public entity at Munich Re Specialty Group. She has 13 years of cyber insurance experience in different roles at Tokio Marine, Lockton Insurance Brokers, and Cowbell Cyber. At Tokio Marine, Hannah was an underwriter for several lines of coverage, with a focus on the healthcare industry, including billing E&O, cyber, and medical malpractice. She also managed program and reinsurance opportunities in product development and crafting customized coverage.

    Peter McKernan leads the Public Entity Property team out of the MRS Chicago office. He joined Munich Re Specialty in 2024 with a wealth of industry experience, including, most recently, property leadership roles at Amtrust, Affiliated Factory Mutual, and Zurich. Peter is a graduate of Marquette University. In his free time, Peter enjoys running, biking and swimming, and he is the director of the Ski Patrol at Alpine Valley Ski Resort in Wisconsin.

    Meteorologist and SVP, Natural Catastrophe Solutions
    Munich Reinsurance America, Inc.
    Mark Bove has been using his meteorological and climatological expertise to improve property catastrophe underwriting at Munich Reinsurance America, Inc., for over 20 years. His responsibilities include evaluating commercially available catastrophe risk models and tools, providing technical expertise on underwriting property catastrophe risk and exposure accumulation issues, and the development of new property catastrophe insurance products. Before joining the Munich Re Group in July 2000, Mark was a graduate research assistant at Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida, where he conducted research on short-term climate variations and probabilistic modeling of extreme weather events. Mark holds master’s and bachelor’s degrees in meteorology from Florida State University.

    Matthew has over 11 years’ experience in cybersecurity consulting, taking part in hundreds of incident response cases, penetration tests and cybersecurity projects throughout his career. Matthew has also taught Information Technology at Lincoln Technical Institute for 5 years of his career. His offensive and defensive technical expertise, cyber industry knowledge and consulting experience provides him with the tools to effectively advise clients on securing their environment from active or imminent cyber threat.
