Munich Re HealthTech appoints Bilal Ramadan as Chief Executive Officer

    Munich Re HealthTech announces the promotion of Bilal Ramadan to Chief Executive Officer. Ramadan will report to Owais Ansari Head of Munich Re Life & Health, MENA, Pakistan & Takaful Business.

    In this role, Ramadan will be responsible for driving the strategy of Munich Re HealthTech to strengthen its position as a leading software technology provider in the health insurance industry. He will oversee the product development and commercial growth of the company and ensure the successful delivery of its projects.

    Since January 2016, Ramadan has been serving as the Chief Delivery Officer at MRHT, where he has played a crucial role in the company's success. Through his 27-year career with the Group, Ramadan has gained extensive experience in a variety of health insurance-related concepts, including technology, management consulting, and related practices and procedures.

    Bilal Ramadan succeeds Gerry Raftopoulos, who stepped down from his role in February 2024. Raftopoulos, successfully built Munich Re HealthTech (MRHT) over the past 28 years to where it is today, providing services to clients in 19 markets spanning Europe, Latin America, Asia, the Middle East and Africa.

    Bilal Ramadan started in his new role on March 1, 2024. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Computer Science from the American University of Beirut, Lebanon and a Master of Business Administration with Finance Concentration from the University of LaVerne, USA.
