To bring a purpose statement to life, it needs to influence as many parts of the organization as possible and the first step is to talk about it and look at it from different angles. During the lab we look at purpose in general but of course we also look at the specific purpose statement of Munich Re. Within a small group of GMP members and our Executive Coach, Nicola Madjno we discuss individual experiences and ideas from participants on purposeful leadership. Shared openness and trust always impressed our participants and ensured a valuable discussion.
Due to the high demand, we offer additional dates for the training "Leadership Presence". Work with a Top Executive Coach in a small group on how to become more present, develop natural sovereignty and authority: choose your actions instead of being driven by your patterns. Work on how to lead with natural authority and navigate complex situations with inner clarity, focus, concentration and composure. Combine mind and body work inclusive meditation to accelerate leadership presence. We have already sent out an invitation for more sessions in autumn 2021 – be quick and register!
Experience a 1,5 hours virtual discussion with 15 GMP-members on a group-relevant topic in an interactive dialog with a board member. By critically exchanging opinions and feedbacks across all business fields, you promote an open culture of dialogue and group-wide cooperation. For preparation, you work together with other GMPs in small subgroups to share opinions and decide what aspects you want to address in the session with the board member. We have already completed three events with Joachim Wenning in the last months. For two sessions in autumn we are happy to welcome Stefan Golling and Thomas Blunck (November 19 and 22: registration process will start soon, keep an eye out for the invitation).
The well-established GMP program “Pit Stop” at Ashridge business school is a popular element in our GMP-portfolio. The topic “strengthen your personal resources on a mental and physical basis” lends itself to meeting locally in the UK and working deeply on the issues. The next “Pit Stop” run was initially planned for November 15-18, 2021 (virtual Kick off September 01). However, the uncertain pandemic situation with still ongoing travel restrictions and travel limitations within our company forced us to again postpone the “Pit Stop” to spring 2022 – a decision that was not easy for us. We are currently working with Ashridge to find a new date in spring 2022 and to offer an additional attractive GMP event for November 2021. We’ll keep you posted.
Meet a larger group of GMP-members in this easy, uncomplicated format. In a 2,5 hours virtual workshop you collaborate with up to 70 GMPs around the globe and an inspiring expert for business or leadership topics. We are currently working on new topics and dates and will inform you as soon as possible.

Inspired by our Ambition 2025, this new GMP format focuses on real use cases presented by GMP members in a virtual one-hour session. Sharing learnings and insights with GMP colleagues and improving collaboration make this format special – it is perfect for presenting successful projects and exchanging views on business-relevant topics.

The next dates will be published soon - so keep an eye out! And whenever you have a use case you want to share with the GMP community, please let us know.

A unique opportunity in Lausanne, especially for new GMP-members but also others who have not experienced IMD yet: come together with up to 25 GMP-members and work on a global Group alliance. Foster a “silo-breaking” mindset and a collaborative Group culture. In 3 days on the IMD Campus in Lausanne you experience what sustainable networks make successful and how your own leadership behavior contribute to a silo-breaking mentality. This event is scheduled for January 2022 on-site in Switzerland if the pandemic situation allows so (no virtual alternative). We will inform you in due course.

The GMP is the core product of Group HR. Besides the management of this platform, we are driving many other topics concerning group-wide human resources.

Together with our HR colleagues at Reinsurance, ERGO and MEAG we work on many initiatives around diversity and ESG. These topics are becoming more relevant within the investors world, our modern society but also within our own organisation.

In addition to the GMP we are proud that we will start the 3rd  cohort of our group-wide graduate trainee programme EXPLORE in October 2021. Ten high-potentials will start their journey through the Group and learn how to be successful in re-, insurance and asset management. Who knows – we might see some of them in the GMPs in a couple of years?

With regard to the Ambition 2025, we have set ourselves clear goals for a more gender-balanced management. Also on GMP we constantly bring together different views and mindsets and try to use the full potential of an inclusive group of people with different backgrounds and experiences. If you are further interested in many details about the diversity of our global workforce please check out our HR Facts & Figures.

Today our investors and other stakeholders look, beyond our business success, much closer at our environmental, social and governance-related actions of our business and internal organization. Therefore, ESG has a solid place in our Ambition 2025: Munich  Re as industry leader in ESG. Group HR is very involved in many topics related to the “S” of ESG. Investors ratings as well as reporting requirements keep us busy over the year. A core product of our sustainability activities is the Corporate Responsibility report, where Group HR is responsible for the HR topics. GMP is featured as one aspect of a sustainable career development to position Munich  Re as an attractive employer and contribute to our ambition.
