Biography

Niraj Shah joined HSB UK and Ireland in November 2022 as Chief Underwriting Officer. 

Prior to joining HSB, Niraj was Managing Director at commercial motor insurtech Zego, where he helped scale-up the business; including the set-up of its own insurance carrier in Gibraltar. Before that, Niraj worked in Chief Actuary and Chief Underwriting Officer roles at companies including Co-op Insurance, Ageas UK, and Groupama Insurance Company Limited.

Niraj is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries (FIA).

In his spare time, Niraj is a Board Trustee of Agora Learning Partnership, a multi-academy trust supporting special educational needs.
