Biography

Anya O'Reilly joined HSB UK and Ireland in September 2014 and was appointed as Chief Operating Officer in 2024, responsible for the Operational Excellence, IT, Data, HR, Legal, Marketing, and Customer Experience functions. From 2014 to 2022, Anya held the role of Finance Director, responsible for the financial management of the company and overseeing the risk function, and from 2022 to 2024 she was HSB's Chief Financial and Operating Officer.

Anya is a Chartered Accountant, with over 25 years’ experience in financial management, audit, and accounting in the financial services industry.

Prior to joining HSB, Anya spent five years at Royal London Mutual Insurance Society where she was Head of Financial Reporting. Prior to this, Anya spent 14 years at accountancy firm PricewaterhouseCoopers, specialising in financial services audit and advisory work (which included spending two years in Thailand).

Anya graduated from Liverpool University in 1995 with a 2:1 in Accountancy, and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1998.

In addition to her responsibilities at HSB, Anya volunteers as a mentor for the Early Careers Foundation schools mentoring programme.
