Barbara Bellissimo

Barbara Bellissimo is President and Chief Executive Officer of HSB Canada. She is also a member of the Board of Directors for the company.

Barbara joins HSB Canada with over 38 years in the insurance industry, holding numerous senior executive roles, including CEO and President, and Vice President for operations and underwriting. Before her appointment as President and CEO, Barbara served as Chair on HSB Canada’s Board of Directors.

She was former Canadian head for the largest insurance company in North America and one of the top P&C insurers in Canada, where she led a diverse portfolio spanning Property and Casualty, Life and Health, a finance company and a mutual funds dealership. She led the incorporation of the organization to its new Canadian-based parent.

In addition to her corporate experience, Barbara has contributed to academia, collaborating with York University to develop insurance and risk management curricula. She also serves on the board of Sienna Senior Living, serves as Chair of the Southlake Hospital Foundation, and is a member of the International Women’s Forum. Barbara holds a Bachelor of Arts in Commercial and Administrative Studies, and is a Fellow Chartered Insurance Professional.
