First-party coverages
Network Event Response Expenses
- Coverage for expenses incurred to investigate and respond to a Network Event, including legal advice, computer forensics (including PCI Forensic Investigator), notification and credit monitoring, and any other services to mitigate the impact of a Network Event.
Cyber Extortion
- Coverage for costs and expenses to respond to an Extortion Event, including payment of an Extortion Payment.
Crisis Management and Public Relations
- Coverage for a professional public relations firm to assist with communications to the media, general public, customers, or clients following a Network Event.
System Restoration, Data Restoration, and Data Recreation
- Coverage for a vendor to recover, restore, repair, or replace electronic data or recover, reinstall, or configure software or operating systems that are damaged as a result of a Network Security Incident.
Bricking
- Coverage to repair or replace hardware components of a Network rendered inoperable for its intended purpose by Malware.
Betterment
- Coverage for costs and expenses to upgrade or improve hardware or software to prevent a similar future Network Security Incident.
Business Interruption
- Coverage for Business Income Loss and Extra Expense for up to 365 days following a Network Event or Voluntary Shutdown. Includes coverage for up to $50,000 for a forensic accountant to assist in calculating and preparing a proof of loss.
- Coverage is also available for Business Interruption Loss and Extra Expense due to a failure of computer security to prevent a breach of a Network owned, operated, or controlled by an IT Service Provider or a Third Party who provides critical business services to an Insured that causes a disruption to the Insured’s business operations.
System Failure
- Coverage for Business Income Loss and Extra Expense (for up to 365 days) following a System Failure. Includes coverage for up to $50,000 for a forensic accountant to assist in calculating and preparing a proof of loss. Coverage due to a System Failure of a Network owned, operated, or controlled by an IT Service Provider that causes a disruption to the Insured’s business operations is also available.
Reputational Harm
- Coverage for loss of net profit as a result of the adverse impact to an entity’s business reputation due to the dissemination of Protected Information or media reports about a Network Event or Extortion Event.
Social Engineering Fraud
- Coverage for the loss of Money, Securities, or tangible property (including Money or Securities held in trust for others) as a result of a fraudulent written, electronic, or telephonic payment instructions. Explicit coverage for fraudulent payment instructions that involve the use of synthetic media, deep fake technology, or other similar artificial intelligence enabled technology.
Computer Fraud
- Coverage for the unauthorized and fraudulent transfer, payment, or theft of Money, Securities, or tangible property (including Money or Securities held in trust for others) as a direct result of a Network Security Incident.
Invoice Manipulation
- Coverage for Money or Securities the Insured is unable to collect as a result of a fraudulent invoice or fraudulent payment instruction.

- Coverage for increased utility expenses as a result of Cryptojacking or Telephone Fraud.
