    • EPL Plus combines employment insurance with Critical Incidents coverage
    • Unique protection for today’s changing employment risks
    • Supports businesses and employees as they recover from a crisis

“Critical incidents are on the rise”

Specialty insurer HSB today introduced an expanded Employment Practices Liability (EPL) policy for small business owners that adds an extra layer of protection for workplace threats and violence.

Employment Practices Liability Plus bundles insurance for discrimination, harassment, and other claims of wrongful employment practices with HSB’s Critical Incidents coverage in one simple and affordable policy.

“Employment charges are increasing and critical incidents are on the rise,” said Sandra Tata, vice president for specialty liability for HSB, part of Munich Re. “Defending an employment practices claim is expensive, while incidents of harm can be devastating for any business, its employees, and reputation. EPL Plus provides protection to keep up with the changing exposures businessowners face in today’s evolving world.

    Broad Coverage for Employment Charges

HSB designed EPL Plus for small businesses that do not have the resources to defend themselves against employment practices charges and lawsuits.

The combination of EPL coverage and crisis protection is unique and offers HSB’s reinsured carriers the ability to include it within an underlying commercial package policy.

Other added services include claims management, risk management services, and full implementation support for the coverage.

    A Higher Level of Protection

A small business survey conducted for HSB found that 34 percent have experienced at least one serious employee threat or violent incident.

HSB Critical Incidents coverage supports businesses and employees as they recover from a workplace incident with coverage and services that include counseling, crisis management, security guarding and loss of business income.

HSB Employment Practices Liability Plus with Critical Incidents coverage is available through insurance companies that partner with HSB.
