Matt Forman

Matt Forman is Chief Financial Officer (CFO). He leads Accounting, Treasury, and Financial Planning & Analysis, and plays a critical leadership role in the development and implementation of HSB’s key business strategies. He is a member of the Munich Re Information Technology Investment Board representing American Modern, HSB, Munich Re Specialty Insurance, Great Lakes Insurance, and Munich Re Specialty Group. He is a member of the Board of Directors of HSB and HSB Group, Inc. (the parent company of HSB).

Mr. Forman has an extensive finance and operational background and has led the design and operation of HSB’s most important business processes. Prior to his role as CFO, Mr. Forman served as Senior Vice President, Head of Service Operations leading a multi-faceted service organization responsible for providing critical support services such as Underwriting, IoT, Engineering, and Claims operations, a contact center, premium and fee accounting, customer experience services, process excellence, automation, and operational reporting.

Throughout his career with HSB, he has held positions of increasing responsibility and led several business-critical endeavors. He served as Senior Vice President – Custom Accounts Division Operations from 2013 – 2017, Vice President – Insurance Finance from 2009 – 2012, and was Director – Finance and Operations from 2001 – 2008. He served as Head of HSB’s extensive Business Transformation initiative and was the Executive sponsor of the new Guidewire program. He was also part of the team that created the business case / strategy to develop a Home Systems Protection product, which has gone on to become a successful product line.

He has his undergraduate degree in Business Administration from Pennsylvania State University and received his MBA with a concentration in Finance from New York University’s Stern School of Business. Mr. Forman holds both a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) and an Associate in Reinsurance (ARe) designation.
