Maria is a Vice President, Cyber Underwriter and Risk Management Portfolio leader for Munich Re Specialty. Throughout her 17 years of experience in the insurance industry, she has held various positions within Personal, Commercial, and Specialty lines, including 8 years focused on cyber risk management. Currently she holds a dual role as an underwriter specializing in Cyber and Technology Errors & Omissions insurance as well as a risk management portfolio leader. Maria spearheads the Reflex™ risk management program, an innovative program designed to help organizations prepare for and mitigate cyber incidents. She is a Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM) and holds a Master’s Degree in Leadership from Purdue University. 

Maria’s work centers on risk underwriting and the development of innovative solutions to help organizations manage and mitigate cyber risks. Her hands-on approach and expertise in both cyber risk and technology errors and omissions make her a valuable resource for navigating today’s complex risk landscape. Her goal is to evaluate risk as a craft underwriter and to equip organizations with the tools needed to protect their assets and enhance their risk management practices from an information security and network security standpoint.

She is passionate about thought leadership, speaking on cyber risk mitigation and human risk. She also participates as an advisory board member for higher-education leadership programs, and spends her free time mentoring young professionals, and high potential women with leadership potential.  Balancing her professional life with family responsibilities, Maria values time spent with her children and strives to set an example of dedication and resilience. Her commitment to both her career and family reflects her belief in the importance of continuous learning and personal growth.
