Cybersecurity service provider Cyren recently confirmed that Phishing continues to be the predominant threat arriving in users’ mailboxes with 82% of incidents of all monitored incidents in 2021 being classified as phishing. Proofpoint’s “State of the Phish 2021” report shows what might happen in phishing cases revealing following top impacts of successful phishing attacks:
- Lost data: 60%
- Compromised accounts or credentials: 52%
- Ransomware infections: 47%
- Malware infections: 29%
- Financial Loss: 18%
