The world economy remains driven by major uncertainties. Geopolitics, record-high energy prices and supply-chain distortions were jointly responsible for weakening economic growth in 2022 and further rising inflation rates. Insurers and reinsurers not only had to digest higher claims inflation, but had also to deal with volatile financial markets in the wake of sharply rising interest rates. As none of these drivers is expected to disappear soon, what’s the economic outlook for 2023? This seminar will focus on the global perspectives for economic growth, inflation and interest rates, as well as on relevant risk scenarios – and their important effects for the insurance industry.
