Curriculum vitae

Dr. Torsten Jeworrek was born in Oschersleben (Saxony-Anhalt) in 1961 and studied mathematics at the university of Magdeburg.

After obtaining his doctorate, he worked at the university for four years as an assistant lecturer. He joined Munich Re in 1990 as an underwriter in the Operational Division: Fire/Treaty. He remained in this post for seven years with the exception of a period of one year spent at Munich Re’s MARC subsidiary in New York. This was followed by management positions in the Operational Division: Fire/Treaty and in Financial Reinsurance/Retrocession. In 2001 Torsten Jeworrek was made Head of the Divisional Unit: Netherlands, Nordic Countries, UK and Ireland.

In 2003 he was appointed to the Board of Management of Munich Re and is responsible for Reinsurance Development, Corporate Underwriting, Accounting, Controlling and Central Reserving for Reinsurance, Information Technology, Global Business Architecture and Geo Risks Research/Corporate Climate Centre.

Dr. Torsten Jeworrek is married and has a son.
