Risk managers at Munich Re

Risk managers are responsible for Munich Re’s integrated risk management. They identify new risks, monitor accumulation risks and develop and apply internal risk models, the results of which play a major role in Munich Re’s value-based management. Risk managers also develop and evaluate Munich Re’s risk strategy, i.e. define the Group’s risk tolerance and strategic risk appetite, establishing the parameters for the individual fields of business, bearing in mind the requisite resources, budgets and limits. Risk managers thus ensure that all Group risks are recorded and evaluated. On this basis, the risks incurred can be managed actively and the available capital used efficiently and sustainably.
