Interns

How about an internship with one of the world’s leading reinsurers? We offer internships in nearly all areas of our company. The majority of these are geared to students of mathematics, economics, law, information technology, geosciences and engineering, but occasionally there are openings in other disciplines, too.

What are the requirements for an internship at Munich Re headquarters?

  • Experience from at least two semesters at university
  • Above-average grades
  • A high degree of proficiency in standard user software
  • Excellent English language skills
  • Good German language skills
  • Full-time availability for a period of at least eight weeks

You will learn more about specific qualification requirements in the individual job advertisements.

Munich Re is a Fair Company that pays all employees appropriate remuneration. Initial remuneration for student interns on Bachelor's or diploma courses will be €850 monthly; students who have shown aptitude during a previous Munich Re appointment or who are on a Master's course will receive €1,000 monthly.

We also offer part-time internships once you have completed a full internship (of at least six weeks). Remuneration for these is €11/hour.

A few hints for a successful application:

You will require a valid proof of university enrolment for the full duration of the internship, unless you are doing the internship between a Bachelor's and subsequent Master's degree. Please note that you are subject to full social insurance deductions in Germany in the period between the two degree courses.

You will find all current job ads posted on our online job market. For internships or work as a student employee, we consider only online applications submitted for advertised jobs. So please do not send unsolicited applications or applications by post. Internship positions for the summer semester break and the second half year are usually posted in March, and for the winter semester break and the first half year in September.
